A few days ago...
Eli: "When I grow up and my kids flood the bathroom and break the kitchen ceiling..."
Us: "Yeah..." (Expecting him to say, "I'll never punish them & be horrible parents like you!")
Eli: "Dad, when I grow up, if my kids do that, can you teach me how to fix it?"
We were so choked up. He was basically saying, "When I grow up, I want to be just like you, Dad." When is there ever a prouder parental moment? :)

You just can't win sometimes
During a particularly difficult few days, this is what Eli & Mia's family prayers sounded like:
Eli: "Dear Heavenly Father, Please help Mommy to fix her voice.* In the name of Jesus Christ. Amen."
Mia: "... Please! help! Mommy! to! Be! Happy! ...." (repeating the words Chris was helping her with, she was standing behind me doing karate chops on my back. Yeah, that will help me to be happy.)
* "Fix Your Voice" is something we say to the kids to get them to stop whining, or to talk more nicely to each other. Oops!
