Two Part F.H.E.

We have been trying in our family to hold regular Family Home Evening nights. Somehow along the way, the kids have come to expect as one of their inalienable rights, to have a game or an activity with us weekly, as part of the evening. The problem is that Chris' overtime work schedule right now is causing us to have almost no time Monday nights for all this. The solution we have found is to have a game or activity on Sunday, then the lesson part of Family Home Evening on Monday (super short!). This takes the pressure off everyone. Last night, Eli was dying to play with play-doh together as a family. He even proposed a play-doh creation contest. My winning creation (a rabbit-caterpillar-hybrid) remains unphotographed, but here are Eli and Mia, immersed in sculpting their dough.

And for those interested, this

is the greatest book for SHORT Family Home Evening lessons for young children! :)
